What motivates us as individuals and as humanity in general?
Many people beleive it is fear of the unknown. We plan and examine in advance how we are going to spend whatever amount of time we have on this planet so that we never have to worry about being alone or being lost or being scared.
I think that this is different. I think that it is fear of the known that drives us. It is seeing past mistakes and correcting them sothat others do not fall into the same trap. It is seeing inourselves the person that e want to be and trying our hardest to let that person come out. It is seeing the way the world is and envisioning the world that we want there to be.
If it is fear of the known that motivates us, why do we strive for change? Why do any of us take a good hard look at the world and wonder what if? If it is fear of the unknown, why do we occasionally skip studying for that test to go to the movies with frineds? If it is fear of the unknown, why do we sometimes go based on gut instinct istead of what the world is telling us is right or wrong?
